- Kioni went bare-knuckled against the DP claiming he was sabotaging the administration of President William Ruto with what he termed as ‘loose’ utterances.
- He went on to foretell a looming fallout between the DP and his boss, asserting that President Ruto’s recent move to reorganise his Cabinet was a ploy by the Head of State to sideline his number two.
Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has slammed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his current running of affairs in the current Kenya Kwanza government.
Addressing the press in Nyahururu town on Tuesday, Kioni went bare-knuckled against the DP claiming he was sabotaging the administration of President William Ruto with what he termed as ‘loose’ utterances.
Kioni went on to foretell a looming fallout between the DP and his boss, asserting that President Ruto’s recent move to reorganise his Cabinet was a ploy by the Head of State to sideline his number two.
“As for Gachagua, the die is cast, and William is done with you, if he had any respect for you, he would not be moving you from one office to another, he would not be using you as the cannon because your mouth has a loose cannon,” Kioni claimed.
“He (Gachagua) has been used, his mouth is the weapon to eat others. As you go down, leave the Kikuyu community alone, don’t go down with it.”
According to the former Ndaragwa MP, DP Gachagua was being exploited by the government to perpetrate attacks on the opposition and those against the State.
“Gachagua has said he will go for the so-called cartels, people who served the Jubilee government. That vindictive approach is the perpetuation of a political agenda. If it is a real criminal thing, then they should allow the institutions set in the Constitution to perform their work,” Kioni said.
The remarks by Kioni follow President Ruto’s Executive Order on Monday that distinguished functions between his deputy and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
The Executive Order reviewed the structure of government, placing the office of Mudavadi under the Executive Office of the President.
