ODM’s Abdulswamad Nassir takes early lead in Mombasa gubernatorial race

Former Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Nassir of Orange Democratic Movement ( ODM) is leading in Mombasa gubernatorial race.

Provisional results indicate that Nassir has garnered 119,083 votes against UDAs Hassan Omar’s 98,108 votes.

According to Independent Electoral and boundaries commission tally as of 9 am today morning Nassir was leading in the just concluded race.

In Jomvu Constituency, Nassir had garnered 15,629 votes, while Omar got 11,038 votes.

In Kisauni Constituency, Nassir received 21,796 votes, while Omar got 20,750 votes.

In Changamwe Constituency, Nassir managed 17,740 votes, while Omar got 15,898 votes.

And in Mvita Constituency, Nassir got 24,106 votes, against Omar’s 19,086.

Results from Likoni Constituency were yet to be received from the county Tallying centre at the Kenya School of Government.
