Polycarp Igathe is the official Azimio la Umoja governor candidate for Nairobi County.

The decision to have Igathe fly the Azimio flag was made after a series of meetings between the Azimio leader.

ODM leader and Azimio la Umoja Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga made the announcement at KICC where he had a meeting with the Azimio council.

Igathe will be deputized by former Kibwezi MP Prof Phillip Kaloki.

Timothy Wanyonyi who was vying for the position has stepped down and will now be seeking to recapture his Westlands Constituency seat.

According to Raila, the Azimio La Umona senator candidate for Nairobi will be Edwin Sifuna who is also the ODM secretary-general.

Incumbent Woman representative Esther Pasarris has also been okayed to fly the Azimio la Umoja flag and will now be contesting against Millicent Omanga who has been given the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.

Fred Ngatia will be appointed as Presidential Envoy for trade.
