12 County assemblies have overwhelmingly passed the BBI Bill

Samburu county on Monday passed the bill, thus becoming the 12th assembly in Kenya to do so. The bill requires a total of 24 counties to pass it so as to proceed head to the National Assembly and the Senate.

The Building Bridges Initiative Bill was taken to the county assemblies after the IEBC verified that over 3.1 million Kenyans supported the bill.

 Other county assemblies that have passed the Bill include Nairobi, Vihiga, Laikipia, Kisii, Siaya, Kisumu, Kajiado, West Pokot, Busia, Trans Nzoia and Homa Bay.

Baringo county is the only county that has rejected the bill so far.
